How do the time, day and venue suit you?

  • Time/day/venue works for us. Same time, same place.
  • Change times and days regularly eg including afternoon and or evening

How do you view the purpose of this Network?

  • Networking with other ECE teachers/managers – Mix of topics for both
  • Ministry of Education providing clear information for everyone
  • Support for each other
  • Call on other agencies / organisations – Collaboration opportunities

What things do you value about this Network?

  • For ECE by ECE
  • Nothing else like Futures Network available
  • Value the opportunity to connect as a wider ECE community
  • We value being made aware of other organisations resources and connections that are available for us to access in the community.
  • Seeing regular faces and networking.
  • We have created a platform for inter-centre connections
  • Discussions/reflections/conversations about ‘everything ece related’.

What suggestions for topics or areas of interest you would like to see covered at the Futures Network Hui?

  • What is happening at the Ministry? Better information representation for MOE and Special Education. Continue with regular MOE face to face up dates – Would like MOE to attend our next Futures Network for update, as no longer receiving Viv’s updates.
  • Curriculum areas focus for speakers
  • Family support services
  • Innovations and Research
  • ERO updates – What does ‘Very well placed’ look like?
  • PAFT
  • Teen mums _ Sue Bagshaw – Karanga mai
  • Plunket –
  • New initiatives for ECE , eg Safe sleep for our children  – Change for our children organization
  • Culture of our centres- Affect on children ( Sandy – Portobelo)
  • Vulnerable children- What does that mean for us? Mandatory reporting. (CYFS)
  • Family Court – Parenting orders
  • Leadership in ECE

What else would you like to see happening with this Network?

  • More people attending
  • Widening the Network to include other sectors eg; health, social services           (See Nat for contact with Shirley community Network)
  • Opportunity for more informal networking with agencies that support families with children under 5’s e.g:

Delta House (Shauna)

Pasifika Trust

Incredible Years

Work and Income

Community Police (Wayne)

Your questions:

Post funding structure approaches.?

Can and how does this network keep going once CORE funding goes?

As Learning Community Clusters and other groups re-establish will there be need for this?
